Enervement

Après le coup de gueule de Sarkozy devant les parlementaires UMP, un conseiller de l'Elysée a confié : "Cela fait 102 fois qu'il explique sa politique. Il y a de quoi s'énerver." De deux choses l'une : soit les parlementaires UMP ne comprennent rien à rien, soit la politique de Sarkozy est inexplicable.

Sarkozys under pressure over their split

President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Cécilia are under pressure from within France's ruling party to come clean quickly about the uncertain state of their marriage.

The occasional presence in Geneva of Richard Attias, the public relations executive with whom Mrs Sarkozy had a well-publicised affair in 2005, has fuelled speculation about the possible resumption of their romance, although Mr Attias is known to be in a happy relationship with the French actress, Mathilda May.

Meanwhile, Mr Sarkozy has been observed with a number of female companions, although there is no suggestion that he is romantically linked to any of them.
